Vinexpo New York 2020
Vinexpo New York in 2020 was my third time as the official show videographer, but my first time during a global pandemic. The show was the first few days of March, and while there, the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in New York City, not far from the shows location at The Javits Center. The same center that a few weeks later would be filled with hospital beds preparing for the incoming sick.
Despite of what was happening in the world, the Vinexpo New York was full of smiling attendees and enthusiastic exhibitors. Education happens throughout the day for both wine and spirits professionals who want to further their knowledge of regions, soils, flavors, glassware, policies, laws, and everything else wine. Vinexpo New York is full of everything you would hope for at a wine and spirits event. Exhibitors come from around the world to be there, so meeting people from Brazil, Spain, New Zealand or Italy is more than normal. Pretty cool to hear so many interesting accents.
The below video is just a few slow motion shots that I liked so not anything official for the shows marketing efforts. I used a Glidecam HD-2000, Sony a7sii with a 16mm-35mm wide angle lens at 60fps if anyone is curious about those things.
My brief explanation of the show doesn’t do it justice, so check out the shows website at www.VinexpoNewYork.com. You may see some videos I shot in previous years on a few of the site’s pages.
