Seafood Expo North America

Seafood Expo North America

BY Michael Poliskey

I worked for Diversified Communications as a web designer for 12 years, and as soon as I started the new employees were invited to take a bus down to Boston to check out the show. I grabbed the company video camera and shot a bunch of footage, made some videos when I got back to the office, showed them to the team, got approval, then put them on the website. Seafood Expo North America is the show that got me started shooting video for trade shows. Here we are 15 years later and I’m back making videos for the show!

If you’re in the seafood industry, then this is the place to be. People from around the world walking the halls of the Boston Convention Exhibition Center for 3 days in March talking business, attending conference sessions, watching chef demos, meeting clients, and maybe seeing some old friends. Super busy and well organized show.

The Videos

I put these together with Adam Morris, marketing expert for the show as well as voice over specialist, for he did all the voice work in the following videos. We discussed before the show that we would produce a 2 minute, a 1 minute and 30 second video, each highlighting different areas of the show.

Two Minute Video

We interviewed a lot of industry experts and put together their thoughts and kind words together in the 2 minute promotional video.

One Minute Video

Quick one minute video with voice over by Adam Morris highlighting some areas here like the oyster shucking and chef demos. The chef demos smell amazing.

Thirty Second Video

The Seafood Expo team had a video similar to this last year, so they had me emulate the style a bit here. The last one they did just had photos, so I like this version a bit better with footage I shot.
