Fifteen Second Videos
You’d think shorter videos would be easier to produce, but it’s just the opposite! A short video has to have a clear message and be more engaging than just running some b-roll over music. These videos are used mostly for ads on LinkedIn or Instagram as well as pre-roll ads on YouTube. If you want a short video there is some discussion to be had, and I will usually storyboard the video first before animating any elements. Storyboarding is a time saver and clients know what they are going to get before I start creating the videos and animations. Below are some recent examples of short 15 second videos.
Camden National Bank
This quick 15 second video was used as an Instagram ad to help with recruiting new employees. Most people have their audio off when scrolling through Instagram, but if they did have their audio on, they will also hear a quote from one of their employees.
This was a test to emulate a LinkedIn ad I saw over and over again, so I just wanted to practice with shorter videos and have something to show clients what a shorter video looks like
Rusty Lantern Markets
I’m the web guy for Rusty Lantern Markets, so I made this for them using some of the stock photos they have available. A cool way to highlight some of their market products and ends with their tagline and logo. Fun music was used to give it a positive vibe.
Vinexpo New York
I believe the Vinexpo New York Team used videos like this for YouTube pre-roll ads. I use a layer of black over the video to make the white text pop a bit more.
Another Style Vinexpo New York
This is another style with a color block behind the messaging that seems to be popular nowadays. I will often create a few options for clients and let them decide which one will work better for them.
